WILL JANICE DEAN “THE WEATHER MACHINE” WIN THE $150,000 “BIG 3” TRIPLE CROWN?

West Palm Beach, Fl. - Post positions have been drawn and it’s time for the Greyhounds to do all the talking, as Palm Beach Kennel Club’s prepares for its biggest, most fun and exciting afternoon of the year, the 41st running of the $50,000 Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. St. Patrick’s Invitational Saturday afternoon, March 18.

And this year’s running has a special significance as Brindle Kennel’s Janice Dean will be going for a clean sweep of all three of the track’s $50,000 stake races.

Janice already proudly wears the championship blankets of January’s $50,000 He’s My Man Classic and last month’s $50,000 James W. Paul 3/8ths Mile Derby.

The only Greyhound to accomplish this rare feat was Bill Davidson Kennel’s Jawa Leonas Best back in 2003.

A quick rundown of the Invitational field shows Janice Dean in a good spot. Sitting between the slow-breaking #6 Barts Big Bang and the youngster #8 Super C Martha should allow Janice to shake loose early.

However, there may be several hurdles to clear for Janice to win the Triple Crown.

The “pure” early speed in the Invitational comes in the sleek forms of #4 Pat C Faro and #5 Big Red Dog. Both have the potential of being up close early at the first turn.

Also, drawing good post-positions the youngest #8 Super C Martha, who looks to have a lot of room to rush the first turn; #1 Fraulein Morgan, who hasn’t raced on the 545-Yard Royal Palm Course since October of 2015, didn’t do too bad for herself drawing the red silk of post one.

And if you believe late speed will play a factor in the outcome of the $50,000 Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. St. Patrick’s Invitational, there are none better than #2 Whirlin Toodlelu, #3 Hot Prospect Gal and the impressive #6 Barts Big Bang.

All in all, this is the most prolific St. Patrick’s Invitational field in recent memory.

The “Luck of the Irish” will be smiling on one of these elite eight illustrious and deserving athletes:

1. Fraulein Morgan (Kiowa Mon Manny – Fraulein Kaci, Janie Carroll)

2. Whirlin Toodlelu (Djays Octane – Loud Linda, James Douglas)

3. Hot Prospect Gal (Last Outlaw – Flaring Fiesta, Arthur Agganis)

4. Pat C Faro (Djays Octane – Pat C Magic, Koppe, Staats & Collins)

5. Big Red Dog (Rhythmless – KB’s La Bella, Rader Racing)

6. Barts Big Bang (Pat C Clement – Barts Magpie, James Douglas Kennel)

7. Janice Dean (Rhythmless – Audra Barkley, Brindle Kennel)

8. Super C Martha (KC And All – Sweet On Adele, Lester Raines)

The 41st running of the $50,000 Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. St. Patrick’s Invitational will be held in Saturday afternoon’s twelfth race with an approximate post time of 4:00 p.m.

Palm Beach Kennel Club honors Arthur J. Rooney Sr. and honors his legacy with our annual St. Patrick’s Invitational.
