DUBUQUE, Iowa - The $148,000 Iowa Breeders Cup and the three other stakes races on Saturday, Oct. 21, closed out the 2017 racing season at Iowa Greyhound Park.

“The season went well,” said General Manager Brian Carpenter. “The only thing we did not have control over was the weather. Our July was wet, it seemed like every Wednesday we had rain."

“The Stidham Kennel’s Grade A greyhounds were a nice crop. We had some real monsters running.”

It was reflected by the patrons willingness to go the mutual windows. “Everything went well,” said Director of Mutuels Jean Hallahan. “Our live handle was up and our export handle was also up, including the wagering on the horses.

“It was a very good year for us.”
