ROUND ONE QUALIFYING FOR PALM BEACH KENNEL CLUB’S $20,000 DICK ANDREWS FUTURITY, WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, DECEMBER 6!

West Palm Beach, Fl. - Round-one qualifying action for Palm Beach Kennel Club’s $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity gets underway Wednesday afternoon, December 6.

Forty-eight of the track’s most outstanding up-and-coming young racing stars will go to post in six qualifying events.

The same 48 stake hopefuls will return for round two Saturday afternoon, December 9.

Following the second round, the field will be trimmed to 32 for round three which will be contested on Wednesday afternoon, December 13.

Following the third round, the top 16 point earners will advance to the semifinals, Monday afternoon, December 18.

The finale of the $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity will be held Tuesday afternoon, December 26.

Likely fan round-one favorites include:

Race 6 appears to be set up perfectly for #8 JSK Ozona (Atascocita Gray – JSK I Love Lucy, James Douglas Kennel) whose early breaking speed should outperform the other seven stake entries.

There is no doubt who the wagering favorite will be in Race 10. Sitting nicely is #4 JSK Lubbock (Atascocita Gray – I Love Lucy, B & B Racing). The brother to JSK Ozona (race 6), Lubbock will be going for his sixth-consecutive victory and sporting a career record of eight starts with seven wins and one place finish. An amazing athlete!

Class should be the ruling factor in Race 12 as #4 Grand Azul (Barcelona Boss – Kiowa Starz Sage, Rader Racing) looks to sitting pretty to score a round-one victory.

In Race 14, the likely fan-favorite will be #7 BF Par Slim (Super Lee – BF Flying Grace, Royal Racing Team). Coming off a Grade “A” victory, he should be able to use his outstanding early speed to snag the early lead and hold off some of the outstanding late-speed stake entries.

And wrapping up the afternoon in Race 15, all eyes will be on who many believe will the pre-finale favorite, #8 Eyesappealing (Barcia Bale – Goldilocks, Lester Raines Kennel). She certainly has a super post position, but may meet early challenges from #1 Exceptional View (Barcelona Boss – Kiowa Starz Sage, Rader Racing) and #3 Superior Dame (Flying Coal City – Superior Pandora, B & B Racing).

A Futurity qualifier will also be held in race 8.

Post time for the first race Wednesday afternoon is 1:00 p.m.

The Futurity is named in honor of former PBKC kennel operator, humanitarian and 2004 inductee to the Greyhound Hall of Fame Dick Andrews.
