United Greyhound Racing introduces its 2017 Great Eight Sprint Team

The best sprinters in the country will now have the opportunity to garner another honor each year as UGR has created a Great Eight Sprint Team. This year’s inaugural team includes many of the greyhounds that would have received invitations to this years canceled 550 national championship race.

The team is led by Southland Park’s top sprinter Flying Wolf Pack (Lester Raines Kennel) and Derby Lane’s RT’s Bo Jangles (Cal Holland Kennel) who is the nation’s win champion. Flying Wolf Pack was named team captain. Others on the Great Eight Team include Orange Park’s Real Good Feelin (DQ Williams Kennel), 2nd in total wins nationwide, GLS Running Red (JS Kennels) from Tri-State, and the well-traveled, Konomi (SL- A Ray Kennel), who has been successful at four tracks during the 2017 year.

Rounding at the field is the young Palm Beach phenom, Tip Top (Rader Kennel, Southland Park’s Nashapelli (David Blair Kennel), and Wheeling Island’s Barts Outofmyway (Lester Raines Kennel).

The greyhounds were chosen by considering their performance in the UGR Top 25 Polls, and by nomination from our selection committee.
