Steve Sarras Kennel’s CET Bella Vic tops all qualifiers for the Saturday afternoon, Nov. 24, championship final of the $65,000 West Virginia Greyhound Owners and Breeders Association Panhandle Championship at Wheeling Island.

CET Bella Vic posted two victories and a second in the qualifying rounds to accumulate a leading 40 points. The sprinter along with CET Hellen Ann (Steve Sarras Kennel) and Up In Smoke (A Ray Kennel) posted victories in Sunday’s semifinal round.

The A Ray and Steve Sarras Kennels each have three of the stakes finalists, while the Imark and Lester Raines kennels have one a piece.

The final field and their qualifying round points follow: CET Bella Vic (Steve Sarras), 40 points; RS’s Magnum (Lester Raines), 35 points; CET Hellen Ann (Steve Sarras), 29 points; Mac’s Charlotte (A Ray Kennel), 27 points; CET Razorback (Steve Sarras), 26 points; Up In Smoke (A Ray Kennel) and Mac’s Trudeaux (A Ray Kennel), 25 points each; and Goldiggin Decka (Imark Kennel), 23 points.

Just missing a spot in the final were Hit Me Chief (Steve Sarras Kennel) with 22 points and three greyhounds – CET Alexis Cream (Steve Sarras Kennel), RS’s Buckeyebuck (Lester Raines Kennel) and GF Anicon (Patriot/Taplin Kennel) – all with 21 points.

The complete point totals after the semifinal round follow:

CET Bella Vic – 40 points.

R’s Magnum – 35 points.

CET Hellen Ann – 29 points.

Mac’s Charlotte – 27 points.

CET Razorback – 26 points.

Up In Smoke, Mac’s Trudeaux – 25 points each.

Goldiggin Decka – 23 points.

Mac’s Glightfoot, GF Reposado, GF La Gloria – 15 points each.

GF Street Song – 14 points.

TS Steph Curry – 13 points.

GF Cazadores – 11 points.

CG’s Lady Bug – 10 points.

The WVGOBA Panhandle Championship wraps up Wheeling Island’s 2018 stakes program. Earlier, L’s Griz won the $100,000 Mountaineer Classic and CG’s Lady Bug captured the $35,000 WVGOBA Juvenile.
