ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The win streak of LK’s Crush N It is over. The Lashmet kennel standout sprinter had his career-high 11-race win streak snapped Wednesday at Derby Lane, finishing third in a Grade A 550-yard sprint.

LK’s Crush N It lost to Capabal kennel speedster Katie Clawson, who scored a box-to-wire win at 11-1 odds in 30.56 seconds.

Trained by Ken Deacon for owners John and Jill Lashmet of Eaton, Colo., LK’s Crush N It finished 3-1/2 lengths behind Katie Clawson. He was passed by 46-1 shot JR’s Dasher of Floyd kennel in the final yards for second.

LK’s Crush N It, a two-time stakes winner and current meet win leader, was pursing what is believed to be the Derby Lane record for most consecutive victories of 15.

It was only the second loss in 21 previous starts since Dec. 8 for the 27-month-old son of LK’s Now R Never and LK’s All In. He has won 28 of his first 38 career starts.
