West Palm Beach, Fl. - Qualifying for Palm Beach Kennel Club’s $20,000 Gallagher / Kinnaird Puppy Stakes continues with third-round action Wednesday afternoon, August 24.

Surprisingly, after two rounds and 12 qualifying races, there are no entries that scored double-round victories.

The big event Wednesday afternoon will occur in Race 15 as Big Red Dog (Rhythmless – KB’s La Bella, Rader Racing) will be breaking from the very advantages eight post position. “Clifford” already has enough points to enter the sweet 16 and this qualifier looks to be icing on the cake.

Third-round qualifiers will also be held in races 10, 12 and 14.

The top 16 point earners following round three will advance to the Puppy Stakes semifinals slated for Monday afternoon, August 29.

The $20,000 Gallagher / Kinnaird Puppy Stakes championship final will be contested Monday afternoon, September 5, Labor Day.

Post time for the first race Wednesday afternoon is 1:00 p.m. with gates opening at 11:30 a.m.

Formerly known as the Labor Day Puppy Stakes, this marks the eighth year of its’ new moniker, named in memory of two Palm Beach County legendary sportscasters, and great friends of Palm Beach Kennel Club, Jim Gallagher and Buck Kinnaird.
