Brindle kennel's Martha Maccallum easily won her first round as did her litter-brother Mark Brunell giving Brindle kennel two of the eight first place points for trainer Mick Roderick at Naples in round one of the $30,000 Sprint. Maccallum not only won easily, the daughter of Flying Westover x Johara clocked the fastest first round time of 30.34 over the 550-yard course.

Steve Sarras kennel's WW Flash Boy continued his winning ways with a third in a row and a round one win. Other first round winners were DS Butterscotch (Xtrem), Rockdown Harmony (Jade Feise), JK Ace (Jimmy King), Sadie Marquee (Oxbow Trow) and VHS Blue Ghost (DQ Williams).

Martha competes again Saturday afternoon in the twilight performance. Round two of the stakes will be split in the December 31 afternoon performances.

Four rounds will be held in the matinee and the back-half of the second rounds will be featured in the twilight performance.
