Allaboutthefame romps to a four-length victory in the $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity

West Palm Beach, Fl. – Competing in only her tenth-career race, Janie Carroll Kennel’s Allaboutthefame took advantage of an excellent post positon to win the post-Christmas Day nineteenth running of Palm Beach Kennel Club’s $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity.

As the starting box opened, Allaboutthefame broke towards the back of the field, Twitter Episode fell well behind after being pinched back early, while the other six finalists went full steam heading into the first turn. You could tell something was going to happen to affect the outcome of the championship race.

While Allaboutthefame remained focused and used her fantastic early-rushing ability to clear the first turn on top, the inevitable traffic jam occurred allowing race-favorite JS Outlaw Legend, early-speedster TC’s Todd Frazer and the earlier-troubled Twitter Episode to avoid most of the early mischief.

At this point in the championship finale, there was no doubt that Allaboutthefame was going to be adorning the Dick Andrews Futurity blanket on the winner’s stand. The battle now was for second and third.

Entering the final turn, it looked as if the top two finishers would be the race favorites, Fame and the Outlaw. However, Twitter Episode, the strongest closer in the finale, had taken advantage of the early race trouble and was loose and charging up fast.

In deep stretch, Twitter Episode blew by JS Outlaw Legend to take the runner-up honors.

Allaboutthefame traversed the 545-Yard Royal Palm Course in a blistering time of 29.46 seconds, the second-fastest clocking in Futurity history, and returned a respectable $8.00 to her many supporters.

Twitter Episode, race-favorite JS Outlaw Legend and Dutch Jackie finished second, third and fourth, respectively.

The newly-crowned champ collected a cool $10,000 for her impressive victory.

The complete order of finish:

1st – 8. Allaboutthefame (KC And All – Abilene Abby, Janie Carroll)

2nd – 1. Twitter Episode (Bella Infrared – Glee Episode, B & B Racing)

3rd – 7. JS Outlaw Legend (DjaysOctane – JS Little B, Koppe, Staats & Collins)

4th – 6. Dutch Jackie (Flying Coal City – Karen Adams, Lester Raines)

5th – 3. TC’s Todd Frazer (Kiowa Sweet Trey – PK’s Keystone, James Douglas)

6th – 5. O Ya Sunflower (Gold Town* - O Ya Aunt Bea, Lester Raines)

7th – 4. TC Carlos Gomez (Kiowa Sweet Trey – PK’s Keystone, James Douglas)

8th - 2. Jack The Rat (BD’s Grayson – Flying Rosecrest, Arthur Agganis)

The Futurity is named in honor of former PBKC kennel operator, humanitarian and 2004 inductee to the Greyhound Hall of Fame Dick Andrews.
