Finalists set for WVGOBA Panhandle Sprint Stakes

Code Red Kennel’s CG’s Sun Storm tops all qualifiers for the Saturday afternoon, Nov. 23, final of the $65,000 West Virginia Greyhound Owners and Breeders Association Panhandle Sprint Stakes at Wheeling Island.

            CG’s Sun Storm is the only greyhound to post victories in all three qualifying rounds to accumulate a total of 45 points. Next in line is Imark Kennel’s CET Dirty Skinny with 40 points on the strength of two wins and a second.

            Completing the championship field are Neighbaah (Steve Sarras), 30 points; Buckeye Bandit (Steve Sarras) and CET Banks (Imark), 27 points each; CG’s Honesty (Code Red) and Wild Money Honey (Xtrem Hess Racing), 25 points each; and SS Full Metal (Steve Sarras), 24 points.

            Post positions for the final will be drawn later this week.

            In addition to CG’s Sun Storm, the two other greyhounds registering semifinal round victories Sunday were CET Dirty Skinny (Imark) and Neighbaah (Steve Sarras).
