The $65,000 West Virginia Greyhound Owners and Breeders Association Open Distance Stakes got underway, Saturday, May 11, at Tri State on the 677 yard course. A total of 32 qualifying sprinters were entered.

After first round of races, CET Kennels posted three wins with Cet Electrify, Cet Dirty Skinny and Cetmark Zippy. Also Abrahamson Kennel sprinter, Gls Finleysfilly, secured a win. Winning racers accumulate 12 points.Â

The greyhounds return for the second round on Friday, May 16. The quarter-finals will be Tuesday, May 21, followed by the semi-finals on Saturday, May 25.

The Open Sprint Stakes championship is scheduled for Friday, May 31.
