Lester Raines Kennel’s RS’s Prime Time and A Ray Kennel’s Mac’s Zhivago posted victories Friday afternoon in the first round of the $65,000 West Virginia Greyhound Owners and Breeders Association Keystone Stakes at Wheeling Island.
Heading into the Wednesday, Nov. 17, second round, both middle distance 3/8 racers have accumulated 15 points to top the leaderboard.
The semi-finals are set for Sunday, Nov. 21, and the stake final is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 27.

RS’s Prime Time, an overwhelming favorite in his race, rocketed to an early lead and never looked back in winning by 2 ½ lengths in 38.03. CET Dirty Gurly and GLS Fast Food rounded out the trifecta ticket.
Mac’s Zhivago, also a huge favorite, overhauled leader RS’s Blue Heaven in the stretch and pulled away to a 5-length victory in 38.17. Mac’s Autumn got up for third.
