Field set for WVGOBA Juvenile final

            Jacobs Racing Kennel’s GLS Marlyn tops all qualifiers for the Saturday afternoon, Sept. 26, final of the $35,000 West Virginia Greyhound Owners and Breeders Association Juvenile Stake at Wheeling Island.

            GLS Marlyn, a Tri-State Greyhound Park invader, posted a trio of victories in the three qualifying rounds to accumulate a total of 45 points. Next in line is Cannon Fire (Steve Sarras Kennel) with 35 points on the strength of a victory and two seconds in the preliminary rounds.

Completing the championship field are Arroyo Outlaw (Code Red Kennel), 32 points; GLS Hi Dolly (Jacobs Racing Kennel), 26 points; RS’sToomuchjuice (Lester Raines Kennel), 25 points; Mystic Samisue (Steve Sarras Kennel), 24 points; TS Presley (Steve Sarras Kennel), 23 points; and Cooper N Kings (Steve Sarras Kennel), 22 points each.

            Post positions for the final will be drawn later this week.

            Capsule looks at the three semifinal races follow:

            GLS Marlyn rushed to an early lead before holding off Cannon Fire by 1 ½ lengths in 30.35. Drake Maye settled for third.

            Arroyo Outlaw rocketed to the front early and never looked back in romping to victory by 6 ½ lengths in 30.18. CET Clyde was second followed by James Cook.

            GLS Hi Dolly broke out to an early 4-length advantage before Cooper N Kings closed the gap to 1 ½ lengths at the wire in 30.28. Mystic Samisue took third.
